Gene Aschenbrenner age 69 of Alta Vista, died Monday, November 23, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.
Funeral services will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton. Interment will be in the Keystone, Iowa cemetery.
Friends may greet the family 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015, at the funeral home.
Gene Robert Aschenbrenner was born September 15, 1946, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Robert and Ella (Witt) Aschenbrenner. He received his education in Fredericksburg. Gene was inducted into the United States Army on January 4, 1966 and was honorably discharged on December 15, 1967. He was a lifelong truck driver and met his future wife in 1996. On December 31, 1999, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA, he married Christine Glaser. The couple were team truck drivers for many years and they spent several years in North Carolina. In 2014, Gene and Christine moved to Alta Vista.
Survivors include two sons, Bradley (Andrea) Aschenbrenner, Jeffrey (Karen) Aschenbrenner, all of Charlotte, NC; one step-son, Adam (Cheyenne) Zeien of New Hampton; four step-daughters, Ashley (Aaron) Lippert of Marysville, MI, Autumn (Issac) Carter, April (Matt) Kinley, all of New Hampton; Alicia Zeien of Kimberly, WI; four grandchildren, Alexis, Marshall, Jake and Jenna Aschenbrenner; eight step-grandchildren, Aiden and Alex Zeien, Dylan, Ethan and Logan Carter, Adrianna, Andrew and Emerson Kinley. Three brothers, Larry (Carol) Aschenbrenner of St. Mary, FL, Dennis (Martha) Aschenbrenner of Baldwin, FL, Tom (Cheryl) Aschenbrenner of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Pat (James) Bell of Baldwin, FL, Connie (Bernard) Wilson of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-daughter, Amber Lee Zeien; step-granddaughters, Gabriella Lippert and Baby Thieme.
Chris, Brad, Jeff,and Dawn and all family, It is with deep sorrow that a great life has ended. Memories are a wonderful gift to hang onto.
