Erwin Remley

Erwin G Remley age 97 of Nashua, IA, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, IA.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at Horton Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Moore presiding. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the graveside service at the cemetery on Friday.
Erwin "Pete" Glen Remley was born June 19, 1921, in rural Bremer County, IA, the son of Wilbert "Zell" and Jessie (Mishler) Remley. Pete received his education and rural county school through the 8th grade. Pete returned home and farmed with his dad on the family farm eventually taking over the entire farming operation. Pete loved being a farmer and spent over 60 years of his life dedicated to growing crops, raising livestock and milking cows on the family farm.
Pete enjoyed tinkering with tractors and cars; especially Ford vehicles. He enjoyed spending time remodeling and fixing things on the farmhouse. Pete loved getting together with his family and always looked forward to hosting Thanksgiving at his house.
Pete is survived by two nieces, Marvelyn (Carl) Meyer of Duncan, SC, Sandra Niemeyer of Greer, SC, two grandniece's, Rachel Herold of Duncan, SC, Rebecca (Keith) Jones of Flat Rock, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herbert and Wilbert Remley; one sister, Elva Remley; sister-in-law, Irene Remley
