Clyde Dave Miller, age 77 of Ionia, IA passed away July 20th on hospice care at NorthCrest  Specialty Care in Waterloo, IA, after a long battle with leukemia

A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, located at 3669 Logan Avenue, Waterloo, IA 50703. Officiated by Pastor Isaac Johnson of New Hope Lutheran Church in Charles City, IA. Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Friends may greet the family from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton, where there will be a social hour following the visitation from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Clyde Dave Miller was born in Waterloo, IA, on July 7, 1948, the son of Albert and Hazel (Moore) Miller. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran in Charles City.

He graduated from East High School, Waterloo, IA, and enlisted shortly after. He was Honorably discharged as a E4 Corporal from the Marine Corps. He served from 1967-1973 as an aircraft mechanic.

After being discharged, he continued to use his airplane skills to build, repair and pilot his own airplanes. He was an avid airplane enthusiast. He also enjoyed being an over-the-road Semi Driver for over 40 years.

Clyde is survived by his children; daughter, Tracy (Kerry) Nielsen of Kellogg, MN, and their children- Reina (Nels), Leanna, Maria(Jared); son, Scott (Cathy) Miller of Minnesota City, MN, and their children, Alex (Kerry), Haylee, Ashlee; and Great Grandchild – Charles; son, Andrew (Evelyn) Miller, Wabasha, MN – Isabella; daughter, Kelly Suarez Garcia (fiancé David)of Hastings, MN, and their children, Donivan, Aidan, Katelyn; nephew, Robert Miller of Perryville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert C. Miller, Waverly, IA, and Hazel L. Faltinson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, half-brother, Richard Miller of Royalton, Illinois.
