Alice Marcella Myers

Alice Marcella Myers, age 88, died Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Cresco, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waucoma with Rev. Nick Radloff celebrating the Mass.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waucoma with Nathan Grimm, Michael Grimm, Alex Myers, Carson Myers, Gary Myers and Mike Ahlers serving as pallbearers.

Friends may greet the family from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waucoma.  Visitation continues an hour prior to the Mass on Friday at the church.

Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory have been entrusted with Alice’s arrangements.

Alice was born in Fort Atkinson, IA to Anton and Rosalia (Timp) Elsbernd.  She was their youngest child and grew up in a large, loving family.  She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1955 and married Leonard Myers the following year.  After living in Wisconsin, they moved back to Iowa in 1965.  They purchased the farm in Jackson Junction the next year, then in 1967 began a lifetime of farming.  Alice and Leonard had nine children.  Alice was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, hardanger embroidery, playing cards and other games, baking, reading and a good laugh. Her cinnamon rolls, kolaches and cookies were the best!  She made friends easily and cherished every visit.

Alice is survived by seven sons: Roy (Tina) in British Columbia, Carl (Deb) in KY, Glenn (June) in MN, Wayne (Donna) in UT, Lloyd (Ruth Ann) in IA, Martin (Wendy) in MO, Lee (Debbie) in FL; two daughters: Rachel (Rick) in WA, Anita (Bob) in MN; twenty-one grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Rose Lansing, Darlene Lansing; sisters-in-law: Margaret Elsbernd, Dee Myers, Elaine Hill; brother-in-law Paul Kress.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard in 2010; brothers: Leo (Helen), Wilfrid, Andrew (Alice), Serenus, Edward; sisters: Rita (Leonard) Nolte, Marie (Gerhard) Setter; sisters and brothers-in-law: Virgil Lansing, Clarence Lansing, Frances Kress, Esther Myers, Magdalen (Ralph) Wieling, Dorothy (James) Cotant, Marilyn (Carl) Hoffmann, Albert (Marlene) Myers, Mary (Bernard) DeSloover, Betty (Tony) Sieverding.
