oh so many memories of my aunt..from my first kitten that I got to pick out from a litter .. I felt so blessed that she thought of me.. 🙂 perhaps in reality she just wanted to get rid of the kittens and quickly.. She never missed my family events, even when her health was not the best. I would have understood…but there she would be. Memorial day..I would see little bouquets of flowers on my uncles grave and on my parents..(the grave sites were close to each other). I knew it was her.. and I did ask her one day.. and yes, she put flowers on the aunts, uncles, parents and her daughter’s… She never judged anyone, and you best not judge her..after all, there is only one who has the right to judge anyone right! She had her kind way of being stern.. Watching her and Uncle Ben kick up their heals and have fun at the Moose Lodge. Watching them dance together…that was a loving sight to see. You will be missed Aunt Marlene and family reunions just won’t be the same. I promise to drink a beer in your honor at each one..that will be my loving tribute to you each year. Aunts have no wands or wings, so they work with wisdom, love, and things. Having taken on this role, You loved me right down to my soul. You offered kindness and greetings with a hug and kiss, freely out of love which I will miss. You’re in God’s Heavens now and no longer in pain, in my thoughts, you’ll always remain. How lucky I was, how blessed I’ve been, you were more than my Aunt, you were also my friend. I love you always and will miss you Aunt Marlene… Jeannie
