William "Bill" Kilcher age 61 of Fredericksburg, IA died of natural causes on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, at United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg with Rev. Mike Christie presiding. Interment will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg with the Fredericksburg Fire Department serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Beaner, Matt Hirsch, Jason Ball, and Trish Bean. Friends may greet the family 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. William Bryan Kilcher was born November 8, 1957, in Sumner, IA, the son of William and Helen (Buschman) Kilcher. Bill received his education in Fredericksburg and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1976. Where he excelled in track and field making it to the state competition and setting several school records. Bill was united in marriage to Colleen Ott on July 21, 1978, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union two children, Ryon and Bobbie were born. The couple later divorced. Bill was introduced to Alice Arens and the couple spent six years together before her passing in 2009. Bill began his career working at Meinerz Creamery in Fredericksburg, where he spent over 25 years working for the company. He operated a side business where he painted interior and exteriors of homes. It would be hard to drive around Fredericksburg and find an area where Bill hadn't painted. Bill began driving truck for Durnan Trucking and was usually tasked with the job of hauling hazardous materials. Bill then began working for Aveka in Fredericksburg, working there for the last several years. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, being an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent time flying model airplanes, enjoying the challenge of taking off and landing the planes while considering the weather elements. He spent 26 years devoted to the Fredericksburg Fire Department, enjoying the camaraderie and the feeling of helping people in need. Bill enjoyed time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his son, Ryon (Amy) Kilcher of Fredericksburg, IA; daughter, Bobbie (Jon) VanSickle of Fredericksburg, IA; six grandchildren, Davis, Millie and Dawson VanSickle, Eddie, Ivan and Nora Kilcher; brother, Donald Kilcher of Fredericksburg, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; significant other, Alice Arens in 2009.
