Genevieve began working for a clothing store in New Hampton and went on to work at Powell's variety store for a couple of years. After 33 years on the farm, the couple moved into Fredericksburg in 1979. Genevieve also enjoyed embroidery work, , camping, playing cards and Secret recipes now passed on to her children. She enjoyed time spent in her large garden. Violets were her favorite houseplants. Cardinals were her favorite bird, giving her much comfort. 2. My favorite memories are when we would stop over for a visit on a Friday night or Sunday and we would get enough people together to play a few hands of Horse Thief! She loved it when she was able to set us all and we had to put in a quarter instead of a nickel and if it was your turn to deal it was fifty cents! I can hear her say oh did you get set too I’m sorry and then give a little chuckle! She was an awesome lady and will miss her! Say hi to Gerald and hope you play alot of Horse Thief together! Love you!
