Barbara Zellmer

Barbara Ann (Dann) Zellmer, age 61 of Mason City, IA died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her home in Mason City. A Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Cedar Point Church in Nashua with Rev. Darin Cerwinske celebrating the service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the church. Barbara Ann Zellmer was born June 14, 1956, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Taylor) Dann. She received her education in Nashua and was a 1976 graduate of the Nashua High School. Barb moved to Mason City and began working in the kitchen at the Odd Fellows Nursing Home. She spent 30 years working for the company until her retirement. During her time there she was introduced to Warren Zellmer and the couple were married in Charles City, IA. The spent over 10 years together until Warren's death. A couple of years later Barb met Dave and the couple spent several years together before Dave's death in 2017. Barb loved reading, and especially enjoyed romance novels. She had a passion for collecting teddy bears and Elvis memorabilia. Barb is survived by four brothers, Robert (Sharrill) Dann of Nashua, IA, Ronald (Joyce) Dann of Nashua, IA, Jim (Cheri) Dann of Cameron, WI, Bruce (Diane) Dann of Charles City, IA; two sisters, Mary Madden of Plainfield, IA, Diana Wiles of Charles City, IA. along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Warren Zellmer in 2002; friend, Dave in 2017; four brothers, Tom, Dennis, John and Tim Dann.
